Not Just Another Blog

Honestly, after going through my courses at ASU, I’ve started noticing stuff in media that I never really paid attention to before. Like the way people are portrayed and how certain ideas just keep showing up over and over.

So this is kinda where I slow down and actually think about that.

Some posts will be for assignments, while others may connect course concepts to real-world examples, current events, and media I encounter in daily life, but it’s also me just trying to make sense of what I’m learning!

Once you start seeing these patterns, you really can’t unsee them.

It’s not meant to be perfect or anything…

Honestly this process was kinda confusing at first lol, but I really took my time going through everything and cleaning it up so it didn’t look like a default template anymore. I changed the colors to something that felt more like me and made sure everything flowed consistently across the whole page. I also tried experimenting a little (I even thought about adding sunflowers for design lol), but I decided not to because I didn’t want to overdo it or risk losing points.

I focused on removing anything that made the site look unfinished, like extra menu items, placeholder sections, and default text. I simplified the navigation so it only includes what actually matters (Blog, About, Reflections, Media Analysis), and I cleaned up parts of the footer to make everything look more intentional.

One of the biggest things I realized was why it kept saying “no results found” — I hadn’t published my post yet lol. Once I fixed that, everything finally showed up the way it was supposed to.
